Our new funding scheme

The Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain is pleased to announce the launch of our new funding scheme: The Stevenson Trust Fund and Wakeling Bequest for Education, Research and Outreach, a new comprehensive funding scheme targeting Masters, PhD students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in architectural history and heritage.

Funds are available to those in both academia and other organisations (such as museums or the heritage sector, public or private sector).

SAHGB will use the new fund to fulfil the SAHGB’s educational mission. In six options, the Stevenson Trust Fund and Wakeling Bequest for Education, Research and Outreach will defray the expenses of:

  1. Research visits to collections, libraries, archives or historic sites within the United Kingdom or abroad;

  2. The fees for PhD students in their final writing-up year;

  3. The fees for a Master’s degree;

  4. Organising an event that brings architectural history research to the broader public and non-specialist audiences;

  5. Students or ECRs attending the annual SAHGB conference; and

  6. Organising an annual workshop or symposium in the context of SAHGB’s ECR and EDI networks.

The Society is grateful for the funds from the Stevenson Trust and the bequest from Christopher Wakeling to enable us to sustain our commitment to support education, research and outreach in architectural history and related fields.

If you have questions about the fund, please contact info@sahgb.org.uk
