Journal Completes Move to Ubiquity Press

The Society is delighted to announce that its journal Architectural History has now completed its move to its new publisher, the Ubiquity Press.

All articles published from 2026 will be Open Access and available to download from our new journal website. We are pleased to re-open submissions for peer-reviewed articles to be published and ask prospective authors to take note of our updated guidelines. All submissions will now be made through this website, using a simple online portal.

Articles will be added to the website as the year progresses. Additionally, a printed volume will be available annually, comprising that year’s articles and book reviews. Members can continue to access past issues of the journal online through JSTOR.

In our 70th year, the move marks a new chapter in the history of our journal, which has been published since 1958. It is our principal publication, and we remain committed to its production as a double-blind, peer-reviewed journal of international standing, recognised for advancing significant original and interpretive research on buildings, the built environment, architectural theory, and historiography across all places and periods. Articles are intended to be rigorous, analytical, and contextual, situating their subjects within broader debates about the history and understanding of architecture. We look forward to receiving submissions that will continue this mission.
