Thanks to the generosity of two late members, Anna Somers Brown and Cyril Eland, the Society is able to offer two bursaries to students covering expenses involved in attending its Annual Conference, held in early September each year. The Society offers a small number of bursaries for post-graduate students to attend the annual SAHGB Symposium in May. The bursaries are the result of surplus funds from recent overseas trips arranged and led by Professor Alistair Rowan, and include annual membership of the Society for one year.
