This year’s Conference will be based in the cathedral city of Hereford and will concentrate on the architecture of Herefordshire.

Friday: Hereford Cathedral; Holme Lacy; Brockhampton Church; Ledbury (including St Michael); St Mary, Kempley; St Bartholomew Church, Much Marcle. Saturday: Treago; St Mary and St David, Kilpeck; Abbey Dore; Wellbrook Manor; Peterchurch; Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Sunday: Hampton Court; Eye; Shobdon; Lucton School; Pembridge; Kinnersley house and church. Pre-conference tours will follow the themes of Arts and Crafts architecture (with Simon Green); Vernacular Architecture (with Duncan James); John Nash in Herefordshire (with David Whitehead) and a Hereford perambulation. The majority of the visits will be by coach.
On the evening of Thursday the 2 September, the Society’s AGM will take place, followed by an opening lecture on Herefordshire, by David Whitehead. Friday the 3rd is a free evening and presents delegates with the opportunity to explore Hereford independently. On the evening of Saturday 4 September, the Lion Ballroom in Leominster (c.1830) will provide the venue for the Society’s Annual Dinner, to which guests and members of the Society not attending are most welcome.
The Conference will be based at the Royal National College for the Blind (RNCB), in Hereford. Single bedrooms and continental breakfast will be provided. The RNCB is one mile away from Hereford train station, and taxis can easily be found outside the station. Non-residential places will be available, including tea, coffee, lunches and dinner on Thursday evening.

The Society is able to offer two bursaries, the Somers Brown and Eland Bursaries, each to cover the cost of a residential Conference place plus a ticket for the Annual Dinner, to full-time student members. If you wish to apply for a bursary please enclose a letter to this effect in accompaniment to your completed Application Form. If necessary a ballot will be held.
