The Society offers members (and in some cases their guests) three standing events each year. There is a one-day Annual Symposium, often held in London and generally in March, at which academic papers are presented and debates held. In late August or early September there is an Annual Conference, which takes the form of three days of field study of a region of the UK preceded by a day of optional Pre-Conference Tours. During the Conference there is an Annual Dinner, open to all members and their guests regardless of their participation in the Conference. Finally in late November or early December there is an Annual Lecture, delivered by a distinguished (and often international) architectural historian and preceded by a reception and the Society's annual awards ceremony.
In addition, the Society holds regular Study Days throughout the year and occasional Overseas Study Tours.
For general information about the Society's events and for details of Study Days and Overseas Study Tours, please contact the Events Secretary at events@sahgb.org.uk .
To receive regular email notices of calls for papers, exhibitions, lectures, and other notices on architectural history, and to publish such events, you may join the jiscmail (UK university-managed) email list, "arch-history" by clicking here. Please note that this service is not run by the SAHGB; it does not announce all SAHGB events, and contains events that are not related to the SAHGB. The best way to find out about SAHGB events is to return to this page regularly, and (even better) to join the Society.
