Research Register

The Society maintains a register of recent and postgraduate research in architectural history, and alerts researchers to existing work in their subject area. The register is regularly updated and republished at intervals of about five years. We hope to begin electronic publication soon. If you are a graduate student or have recently completed research in architectural history, why not add your details? Please contact us.

Skills Directory

Several times a year the SAHGB Committee is asked to recommend architectural historians willing and able to carry out different assignments ranging from research reports on single buildings to advising television programmes, with and without remuneration. Some members may wish to have such projects drawn to their attention and to have the ability to decide on whether or not to take them forward.

The information is held confidentially by the Honorary Secretary of the Society for release only to bona fide enquirers who write in with their request. it is not for publication.

Conscious of the risk of liability regarding any recommendations the Committee might make, legal advice was taken from Robin Purchas QC, and the disclaimer below will be issued with each copy from the Directory released to enquirers. We recommend that you take advice on indemnity insurance.

The Directory is compiled from information provided by the members concerned. While it is provided in good faith, the Society cannot and does not offer any assurance as to the accuracy of its contents or the professional or other qualifications or particular expertise of any person listed in the Directory in that respect or at all. Those making use of the Directory should make and rely upon their own enquiries as to the suitability and expertise of any person listed before deciding to make use of that person's services or otherwise. No reliance whatsoever should be placed upon the Directory or the accuracy of its contents for that purpose or otherwise.

It may be possible in the future to publicise entries in the Skills Directory on the website. Contact the Honorary Secretary for further information.
